Description
The BatteryProtect disconnects the battery from non essential loads before it is completely discharged (which would damage the battery) or before it has insufficient power left to crank the engine.
The BatteryProtect is a uni-directional device. It can only deal with current in one direction, so either current to a load, or current from a charger, but not both currents at the same time. In addition to this, current only can only flow from the Battery terminal to the Load terminal. In case of use with a load, the battery connects to the Battery terminal, and in case of use with a charger, the charger connects to the Battery terminal.

Works as it should thanks
The standard Battery Protect was an easy install. You just need to be careful (I wasn't) when programming the unit. But thanks to the support from Energy Eco I was able to correct my mistake. I have installed it just to protect my freezer. Should be a great unit to have.
I should have brought the Smart Model with Bluetooth, my bad, I thought remote control in the description was Bluetooth like the rest of the kit I bought, but it is for wired remote. Maybe I will upgrade later.
Disappointed with how complicated it is to incorporate it into in a solar setup that involves an inverter
I have had Victron units in my canopy set up for the past 3 years and recently added an under bonnet voltage regulator for the trailer lead. Always happy with Victron and thoroughly recommend them to you.
Good little unit. Installed one in the engine bay on the prado and one behind the glove box of the bt50. Peace of mind knowing I will not run the auxiliary battery flat.
Great bit of kit, only fault is no blue tooth
Seems good. I have some other issue between battery and a load that caused battery safe mode before protect kicked in, so it would have been good to get the bluetooth to see what was going on, but otherwise all good.

I received a call within hours after my purchase to confim the battery protect which I ordered was the correct one as there are 2 types in the model I had chosen. Was posted promptly and delivered within a week. Item was perfect and suits my application well. Thanks
