Description
The Orion-Tr Smart DC-DC charger is a professional DC to DC adaptive 3-stage charger with built-in Bluetooth.
For use in dual battery systems in vehicles or on boats where the alternator and the start battery are used to charge the service battery. The unit can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth and can be remotely controlled via a remote on/off switch.
The Orion-Tr Smart charger can be used in 12V or 24V systems and is suitable for both lead acid and lithium batteries. Models are available up to 400W and unlimited multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase output power.
Suitable for high temperatures up to 55°C with a full rated output up to 40°C.
IP43 protection
When installed with the screw terminals oriented downwards.

The item arrived in excellent condition and the quality is great like all other victron gear. I have not wired it up yet as other aspects of the build need completing first
The only issue I experienced was dealing with the configuration of the charger. There were no simple written instructions to inform me that I needed to download the ap. I did use the qr code with link to the instructions, but I found them too generic. My electrician told me what I needed to do. Anyway, it took a while. Also the settings icon is not obviously a settings icon. Confusing that the menu also has settings, but these are not to configure the charger. Hope this helps

Very easy to setup and works very well as both power supply and when travelling with caravan attached as charger for lithium batter bank. Programming through app was easy and worked well for my needs.

Great product and best price. The only issue was getting the cables to twist enough to insert - so I made some heavy duty end posts with 16mm aluminium tube and cut off Allen key. Perfect, secure fit.

Victron Tr 12/48-8A unit and the physical build quality is top-notch. It feels rugged, well-engineered, and ready for a serious off-grid setup. Delivery was prompt and seamless. Needed an isolated charger, this fitted perfectly into my system.
Works as advertised. Great bit of kit and it's now keeping my second battery in the car topped up whilst on the go. One trick for beginners, if using the engine sensing input to turn off the charger when the engine isn't running, disable engine shut down detection in the settings, it'll then "just work"
