The VE.Bus Smart dongle is two products in one:
First of all it is the Bluetooth accessory for our range of inverter/chargers: Multis, MultiPlusses, MultiPlus-II, MultiGrid, MultiGrid-II, Quattros, and our series of Phoenix Inverters with a VE.Bus port. When installed, use the VictronConnect App to monitor operation and also operate the system: change the input current limit as well as switch between Off, On and Charger-only modes.
Secondly it can work as a Voltage- and Temperature-sense device for the inverter/charger. This works with all models.
For monitoring, the device is a great alternative in caravans, smaller yachts and motor homes for which the Color Control GX or Venus GX are a step too far.

Installed and addition parallel 50 amps of charging for vans house batteries using the new Victron XS Orion DCDC charger (amazing unit). With VE Smart Dongle can be confident that battery temp will be monitored by the Victron Charger. Setup and integration very easy between two units! I love Victron gear, wish I had completed full build with it! Can you pick the mods and brand of the other brand DCDC charger in the photo that I had to do to maintain its claimed 50 amp bulk charge rate? ;-)

It doesn't tell me much about my inverter. I thought it would give me the history and stuff like my Charger does.

Unit delivered on time as usual. Performs as expected. A suggestion for Victron on the VE Bus Smart Dongle - I would like to be able to turn the battery charger off when using the inverter in bypass mode. Otherwise a great product.
